Spa Newbie?

For a gift last year, I had received a $150 gift certificate for Burke Williams on The Row. Next week, being spring break, I decided there was no better time to put this to use. I have heard a lot of talk about the spa and their services and am looking forward to my first experience.

I’ve been perusing the menu for…maybe an hour now, and finally have made my decision! The menu is extremely extensive (in a good way), my sites landed on the Pure Relaxation Massage (50 minutes) as well as the Salt Glow, because I couldn’t stand to have gift card money going to waste.

I am maybe a bit overly excited to see what this magical oasis will bring me, and I will report back after my appointment next week for an update! Wish me luck!

P.S. – If you are interested in taking a trip to paradise yourself or just interested in looking at what Burke Williams has to offer, I would highly suggest checking out the menu online (you are guaranteed to be impressed).

Leprechaun Style Green Beer!

I am in the process of planning an internship to Ireland this summer, so of course I’ve been doing tons of research on the country, and what perfect timing with the Irish holiday right around the corner. Ireland is known for their lavish beer drinking, and there is no missing all the recipes for making green beer. I recommend everyone give it a chance this weekend.

I found that the steps are pretty simple. Buy a light colored beer, preferably an Irish one to help support the holiday, buy some green food coloring and add drops until you have reached your desired shade of green! Yes, it is THAT easy!

Boom!

Drink of The Week at El Jardin!

Last week I visited, for the first time, the only tequila bar on Santana Row, El Jardin. Wow! I have been missing out. Not only was the nacho appetizer delectable, the three fish tacos I ordered were gone in less than two minutes. It’s hard to find good authentic mexican food, but I have found that following a good recommendation is the best way to go. Although all my food was delicious, I have to be honest, me and my friends decided to head here for the margaritas of course! The menu is very unique and impressive. They have all of the classic favorites, but we decided to take a risk and go for the Lemon-Basil Margarita. By far, this was the best part of my meal. I highly recommend ordering this if you make it out here. I can’t forget to mention that it made our drinks even better that we got to sit outside, enjoy the twinkling white lights, the live music, and I got a spot right next to a heat lamp 🙂

A Saint Patty’s Day to Remember!

Don’t get the Saint Patrick’s Day Blues this year, the Irish festivities day even falls on a Saturday night!

Rosie McCann, the local Irish Pub is going to be the place to be. They are going to offer a full Irish menu until 11PM, so even if you have work, come join the fun after! A live band will be playing until 6:30 PM and even bag pipes until 7 PM. The green beer is a Saint Patty’s day must and will not be in short supply.

Don’t want to be out in the crowd, but can’t live without a sip of your own green beer? Follow the link below for the simple instructions on how to get your beer the greenest! If you’re not all that into beer, you may want to look into some of the many other green cocktails that are out there. I am thinking of making a Green Goblin or Zen Master, yum!

My own green beer, right here!

A Gloomy Sunday

The skies were cloudy and dark today, but not even the lack of sunshine could keep people away from the commotion. It could be cupid bringing lovers out to do some last minute shopping, or just people enjoying their last few minutes of freedom before the week begins again. If it hadn’t been for a busy morning at work today, I may have joined the crowd. There are a number of special sales going on but even if the budget does not permit shopping this time of year, a grande iced coffee and some window shopping can be just as fun with the right people by your side.
